Toyota Manual Transmission Oil 80W-90Gl-4
By: Michael on 4 June 2026Have not put this oil in my manual gear box 6 speed HiAce yet. Took the opportunity to get correct specification oil. The label on gear oil container states; excellent oxidation stability at high temperature. On a hot day a year ago van started making noticeable gear noises, slowed to 80kph still noisy. Changed the gearbox oil and all the noise stopped. But first changed the diff oil and then replace the rear brake drums. The dealer had replaced the brake shoes for free with the service, did not tell me. This was a couple months before the gear noise started. So now I have a reason to buy the correct oil.

By: Jonathan Canning on 4 March 2026I have used the genuine GL4 Toyota 85w90 gearbox oil from Nunawading Toyota on both my stepsons R150 & my R154 transmissions. It’s priced $100 cheaper than redline MT90 & works perfectly being the factory choice.
